A marquise is a long, narrow brilliant cut with a point at each end, and its length gives it a generous outline on the finger. The collection includes a six-prong cathedral solitaire; halo, hidden-halo and diamond-shaped halo designs; three-stone rings; leaf, vine, floral and cluster designs; channel-set and pavé bands; and marquise and pear toi et moi rings.
Most centre stones are graded colourless to near-colourless with VS1 to SI1 clarity, and every one is independently certified, typically by GIA or IGI. Both points of a marquise are delicate, so each should sit inside a prong. Check the length-to-width ratio and the measurements on the grading report, and you can check the report number on the laboratory's own website before you pay.
