Diamond Rings in Ras Al Khaimah

Diamond rings delivered to Ras Al Khaimah start at AED 2,800 for a ring set with small diamonds, and a ring with a one-carat centre stone from AED 4,000 lab-grown or AED 9,490 natural — 5% VAT and insured delivery already inside the number. What follows is written for the specific decision a buyer here actually faces: whether to shop the two old souk districts, drive the E11 to Deira, or have the stone sent to you with the making charge written down.

Where gold is actually sold in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah does not have one gold market. It has two old souk districts, some distance apart, and a handful of malls — which is why asking a friend where to go here produces a different answer depending on which side of the creek they live on.

The Kuwaiti Souk is inland, in the old city, and is one of the oldest market areas in the emirate: a maze of narrow streets selling spices, textiles, traditional goods and jewellery. The gold cluster within it sits on Al Kuwait Street — the jeweller Al Romaizan gives its own branch address there as "Ras Al Khaimah, Gold Souk, Al Kuwait Street", which is about as firm a confirmation of where the gold is as you will get. Souk Al Mairid, nearer the waterfront, is the other one: Emirati pottery, handicrafts, abayas and gold jewellery, with a fresh-produce market attached at one end.

The malls are a shorter and more checkable list. Malabar Gold & Diamonds has two RAK showrooms, one on Muntazir Road and one in RAK Mall on Khuzam Road. Damas lists three: Manar Mall, Hamra Mall and Al Naeem City Center. Al Romaizan has the Gold Souk branch on Al Kuwait Street plus one at Al Manar Shopping Center. Manar Mall itself sits on the downtown waterfront looking out over the mangroves and carries more than 120 stores in total across every category; Al Naeem Mall is in the heart of the city on the banks of the harbour.

That is genuinely a market — but it is a small one, and the comparison a RAK buyer is implicitly making is against Deira, where the Dubai Gold Souk packs far more jewellers into a few connected lanes than any market in Ras Al Khaimah. Fewer shops does not mean worse prices. It does mean fewer quotes to compare a quote against, and comparison is one of the few real defences a buyer has.

"Zero making charge" — what it means, and what the catch is

"Zero making charge" is one of the phrases Google itself suggests when people search for gold shops in Ras Al Khaimah, so it deserves a straight answer rather than a sales one.

Every gold price in the UAE is built the same way: the gold value — the weight of the piece multiplied by that day's rate for that purity — plus a separate making charge covering the labour of manufacturing it. The making charge is usually quoted per gram; in December 2024 Tawhid Abdullah, chairman of the Dubai Jewellery Group, put the market range at about AED 3 to AED 30 a gram. On a ring of any weight that spread is the difference between a fair price and a poor one, and it is invisible unless the shop separates it out for you.

Zero-making-charge offers are real. They are not a myth invented by shoppers, and Gulf News has reported that weekend promotions increasingly advertise them. The catch is equally documented, and it is worth knowing before you plan a Saturday around one:

  • The offers cluster on weekends rather than running continuously.
  • Most qualifying pieces are under five grams, rather than the substantial pieces people picture.
  • Qualifying stock is often older inventory the shop is clearing.
  • Jewellers themselves say running zero making charges every day is not commercially possible, because every retailer pays the same wholesale gold price and cannot trade without a margin somewhere.

None of that makes the promotions dishonest. It makes them narrow. And it points at the more useful question, which is not "can I get the making charge to zero" but "will you show me the making charge at all". A seller who states it as its own line has given you something you can compare against another seller's number. A seller who folds it into one total has not.

One more thing worth knowing: 5% VAT applies to gold jewellery in the UAE, and it applies to both the gold value and the making charge. The exception is investment-grade gold of 99% purity or higher in bar or coin form, which is a different product from a ring.

What a certified ring costs, by the setting you choose

Because the making charge pays for the work in the setting, it is worth seeing prices arranged by setting rather than by stone weight. An eternity band and a hidden-halo mount are different amounts of labour, and that shows up in where each style starts.

Setting style Designs available From (AED) Typical up to (AED)
Eternity band 97 2,820 15,020
Pavé-set band (incl. engagement rings) 351 2,800 58,150
Halo (incl. hidden halo) 204 2,940 60,330
Solitaire 95 3,090 54,030
Hidden halo 19 3,090 52,820
Three-stone 90 3,040 57,140

Complete rings, delivered free to any Ras Al Khaimah address, with 5% VAT included. "Typical up to" is the price at or below which three-quarters of the listed options in that style sit. A design can appear in more than one row — a halo ring with a pavé band counts in both — and rings are made to order.

Is it worth driving to Deira?

The Ras Al Khaimah tourism authority puts Dubai at roughly 110 kilometres away, about an hour and a half to two hours by road on the E11. Dubai International is closer, around 85 kilometres and about forty-five minutes. Those are the official figures; you will hear faster times quoted, and they generally assume a clear road at a quiet hour rather than a Thursday evening.

So the honest arithmetic on a day trip to the Gold Souk is most of a day, fuel both ways, and a decision made standing up in a crowded lane under lighting designed to flatter stones. What you get for it is far more shops to compare in one place — which matters enormously for gold, where the rate is public and the only variable is the making charge, and matters far less for diamonds, where there is no published rate and two stones of identical weight can differ threefold in price on colour, clarity and cut alone.

Put plainly: the drive is a good idea if you are buying gold by weight, and a much weaker one if you are buying a diamond. For a diamond, what protects you is the certificate and a written breakdown, and both of those travel to Ras Al Khaimah perfectly well without you.

Buying a diamond without a shop counter

We have no walk-in showroom — in Ras Al Khaimah or anywhere else — and we would rather say that than imply otherwise. Consultations happen on WhatsApp and video call. Tell us the stone or the design you have in mind and a jeweller will suggest options; to confirm a specific stone and its independent grading report (GIA, IGI or HRD) before ordering, ask on WhatsApp. The price arrives itemised — the stone, the metal, the making charge, and the 5% VAT that is already inside the total.

Once the order is confirmed, the ring is made and sent by insured courier to any Ras Al Khaimah address, with a signature on delivery. There is nothing to pay at the door. Our rings are made to order and arrive within 1 to 2 weeks of order confirmation; once it is dispatched, transit within the UAE is typically 1 to 3 business days. A ring designed for you from scratch takes 3 to 4 weeks. If you are working to a date, give us the date rather than the timeline — we will tell you whether it is possible rather than take the order and hope.

Sizing is worth settling before you order, and for a surprise it is the hardest part. Our size guide covers how to measure a ring she already owns. Within 30 days of delivery, we cover the standard local market rate for one resize at a jeweller near you on eligible styles. Pavé bands, eternity bands and any band with diamonds set along it cannot be resized, and a resized ring counts as a custom order that can no longer be returned under the 21-day change-of-mind guarantee.

What to ask before you pay anyone in Ras Al Khaimah

These work at a counter in the Kuwaiti Souk, in Manar Mall, in Deira, or with us. They are not about catching anyone out; they are about making two quotes comparable.

  1. What is the making charge per gram on this piece? The Dubai Jewellery Group's chairman put the market range at AED 3 to AED 30 a gram in December 2024. A shop that will not give you one has removed your ability to compare.
  2. Which laboratory certified this stone, and can I see the report before paying? GIA, IGI or HRD. An in-house or unnamed lab report is a marketing document, not an independent grade.
  3. Is the report number inscribed on the diamond? If it is, you can confirm the stone in front of you is the stone on the paper.
  4. Is the 5% VAT inside this figure, and is anything collected on delivery? For a domestic UAE purchase the answer should be yes and no respectively.
  5. What are the grades of this specific stone — carat, colour, clarity and, for a round brilliant, cut? Ask for the single values printed on its report. A catalogue listing may show a range before a stone is chosen, but the report for the stone you actually buy should not. A GIA report on a lab-grown stone issued since 1 October 2025 gives a Premium or Standard rating instead of separate colour and clarity grades.

A note on where Ras Al Khaimah is going

This matters commercially, because a market that is growing gets more retail, and more retail means more quotes to compare. Ras Al Khaimah never became an oil emirate. It built one of the most diversified economies in the region instead — no single sector contributes more than 30% of its roughly thirteen-billion-dollar GDP, with manufacturing at the centre of it, from RAK Ceramics to pharmaceuticals. Its chamber of commerce was established by Emiri decree in October 1967, four years before the federation itself existed.

Tourism is the part changing fastest: a record 1.35 million overnight visitors in 2025, six per cent up on the year before, with a target above 3.5 million by 2030. Al Marjan Island — four coral-shaped man-made islands off Al Jazirah Al Hamra, built on 2.7 million square metres of reclaimed land — is where Wynn Al Marjan Island opens to guests in September 2027. Inland, Jebel Jais, listed by the UAE government as the country's highest peak at 1,934 metres, draws visitors of its own. None of that changes what a diamond costs. It does mean that a jewellery market made up today of two old souk districts and a handful of malls is unlikely to stay that size for long.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the gold souk in Ras Al Khaimah?
There are two old souk districts rather than one gold souk. The gold cluster sits on Al Kuwait Street in the Kuwaiti Souk, in the old inland city; Souk Al Mairid, nearer the waterfront, also sells gold jewellery alongside pottery, handicrafts and abayas.

Is "zero making charge" in Ras Al Khaimah genuine?
The promotions are real but narrow. They cluster on weekends, most qualifying pieces are under five grams and often older stock, and jewellers state that running zero making charges daily is not commercially possible. The more useful question is whether a seller will show you the making charge at all.

What is a normal making charge in the UAE?
Making charges are usually quoted per gram; in December 2024 the chairman of the Dubai Jewellery Group put the range at about AED 3 to AED 30 a gram. It is charged on top of the gold value, and 5% VAT applies to both.

Is it cheaper to buy a diamond in Dubai than in Ras Al Khaimah?
Not inherently. Gold benefits from Deira's density because the rate is published and only the making charge varies. Diamonds have no published rate, so the certificate and a written breakdown protect you far more than the location of the shop does.

How far is Ras Al Khaimah from Dubai?
About 110 kilometres, roughly an hour and a half to two hours by road on the E11 according to the RAK tourism authority. Dubai International Airport is around 85 kilometres, about forty-five minutes.

How much is a diamond ring delivered to Ras Al Khaimah?
From AED 2,800 for a complete ring set with small diamonds. A ring with a one-carat centre stone starts at AED 4,000 lab-grown or AED 9,490 natural, with 5% VAT and insured delivery included.

Do you deliver to Ras Al Khaimah, and is there anything to pay on arrival?
Yes. Every order ships free by insured courier, with a signature on delivery. Rings are made to order and arrive within 1 to 2 weeks of order confirmation; transit itself is typically 1 to 3 business days once the ring is dispatched. Nothing is collected at the door — the price you agreed already includes 5% VAT and delivery.

Can I check the diamond before I commit?
Loose diamonds on our site are listed with their grading report details. For a ring, a jeweller on WhatsApp can share the independent grading report number (GIA, IGI or HRD) of a specific stone before an order is placed, with photographs or video where available.
