Diamond Rings in Umm Al Quwain
We reply within 4 hours.
Diamond rings delivered in Umm Al Quwain start at AED 2,800 for a ring set with small diamonds, and a ring with a one-carat centre stone from AED 4,000 lab-grown or AED 9,490 natural, with 5% VAT already inside the figure. This is a short page, and deliberately so: there is not much jewellery retail in Umm Al Quwain, and pretending otherwise would waste your time.

One jewellery brand in the main mall's directory
Mall of UAQ is the emirate's principal shopping centre, on the main highway, Al Shuwaib Road / E55. Its own online store directory lists exactly one brand under Jewellery & Watches: Malabar Gold & Diamonds, on the ground floor. Stores there trade 10:00 to 22:00.
Outside the mall there is a genuine but small local trade. Taiba Jewellers on King Faisal Road in Al Reqqah is a real Umm Al Quwain jewellery shop, and King Faisal Road is where jewellery addresses in the emirate tend to sit. Beyond that, business directories list only a short run of jewellery shops for the whole emirate.
Two more things worth knowing before you drive anywhere. Joyalukkas opened a showroom at Mall of UAQ in July 2018, but it does not appear in the mall's current store directory; we could not establish whether it is still trading, so it is worth a phone call before a journey. And Kalyan Jewellers, with twenty-two stores across the country as of June 2025, lists them in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, but not here. A chain that size opening in five emirates and not this one says something about the size of the market.
Nor could we establish that a gold souq exists here at all. Umm Al Quwain has an old souq that appears in travel listings, but none of them mentions gold, and no official source attests a gold market. We would rather tell you that than imply a destination that may not be there.
What is actually within reach, and what it costs to get there
Since the local choice is one mall brand and a handful of shops, the honest table for Umm Al Quwain is not a carat ladder — it is the map. Here is what each option genuinely offers.
| Where | Distance | Time | What you actually get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mall of UAQ | local | — | One jewellery brand in the mall directory |
| Ajman | about 23 km | about 25 min | Ajman's official Gold Souq, plus an old and a new souq |
| Sharjah Central Souq | about 35 km | about 45 min | Over 600 shops across two levels |
| Dubai Gold Souk, Deira | about 62 km | about an hour | Many jewellery traders in one district |
| Delivered to your door | — | 1 to 2 weeks from order confirmation | 777 rings in the online catalogue, each priced in AED with 5% VAT included |
Drive times are free-flow estimates via the E11 to Ajman and Sharjah and the E311 towards Deira. Delivery is free, insured and signed for, with nothing to pay on arrival; once a ring is dispatched, transit within the UAE is typically 1 to 3 business days.

Practical notes for actually going
If you do shop locally, two details are worth having in advance. Stores at Mall of UAQ trade 10:00 to 22:00, seven days a week, with the restaurants and food court open later. Taiba Jewellers on King Faisal Road keeps a traditional split day with a midday closure, according to its directory listing, so it is worth checking the hours before setting out in the early afternoon.
It is also worth calibrating how small this market genuinely is, because it explains everything above. Umm Al Quwain is the least populated emirate in the country, covering roughly 720 square kilometres — about one per cent of the UAE's land area. The most recent total population figure on the official UAE government platform is 49,159, from the December 2005 census; the platform adds only a mid-2010 count of UAE nationals, 17,482. We are quoting a twenty-year-old total because it is the latest official one we could find, which is itself a fair indication of the scale we are talking about.
The emirate's own economy runs on other things. Fishing is a key contributor, with seafood exported to Europe and the Middle East; there is Ahmed Bin Rashid Port and a free trade zone; and Dreamland Aqua Park here is described by the UAE government as the country's largest water park. Umm Al Quwain has been ruled by Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla since 2 January 2009. What it does not have is a jewellery district.
What being here does and does not change about the price
Gold is quoted as a single nationwide rate in the UAE, not per emirate. So being in Umm Al Quwain does not make the metal in a ring cost more or less than it does in Deira. What differs is only the making charge — the labour, quoted per gram or as a percentage of the gold value — and how far you are willing to travel to compare one.
For a diamond, distance matters even less than that, and it is worth understanding why. There is no public daily diamond rate the way there is for gold; trade price lists exist, but they are subscription-only benchmarks, not a price anyone can check at a counter. Two stones of identical carat weight can differ threefold in price on colour, clarity and cut, and no amount of walking between counters resolves that. It is resolved by an independent laboratory report, by a way of matching the stone to that report, and by a price written down in parts. Those are the same wherever you stand, which is genuinely good news if you live in an emirate with few counters.
The oldest known pearling town in the Gulf is here
Worth saying on a page about buying precious stones, because it is a real and rather extraordinary fact about this place. On Al Sinniyah Island, off the Umm Al Quwain coast, archaeologists found the oldest known pearling town in the Arabian Gulf — announced in March 2023, a twelve-hectare settlement dating from the late sixth or early seventh century. On the same island sits a Christian monastery dated to between the late sixth and mid-eighth century AD, its discovery announced by the emirate's own Department of Tourism and Archaeology.
The emirate also has the Ed-Dur site, on the UAE's UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List since 30 January 2012 — a candidate rather than an inscribed site, and worth stating precisely. Its most important building is a rectangular temple, roughly eight metres by eight and a third, its walls still standing between two and 2.3 metres high, preserved by the sand dunes around it.
Al Sinniyah Island itself runs nearly ten kilometres and is a habitat for seagulls and flamingos among the mangroves, which stretch more than seven kilometres along this coast. Umm Al Quwain's name comes from Umm Al Quwatain — "two powers", meaning its activity on land and on water.
So this is a place with a long history in the trade of precious things from the sea. What it has little of today is jewellery retail, which is a much narrower gap, and one that delivery closes.
Buying without a counter
We have no walk-in showroom, in Umm Al Quwain or anywhere else; consultations happen on WhatsApp and video call. Tell us the stone or the design you have in mind and a jeweller will suggest options; to confirm a specific stone and its laboratory report (GIA, IGI or HRD) before ordering, ask on WhatsApp. The quote arrives itemised — the stone, the metal and the making charge — with the 5% VAT already inside the total.
Our rings are made to order and arrive within 1 to 2 weeks of order confirmation; a ring designed for you from scratch takes 3 to 4 weeks. The finished ring travels fully insured, with FedEx or, for a high-value order, a secure valuables carrier, and must be signed for; once dispatched, transit within the UAE is typically 1 to 3 business days. If you have a date in mind, tell us the date rather than the timeline, and we will say plainly whether it works.
Sizing is worth settling before you order, especially for a surprise. Our size guide covers measuring a ring she already wears without asking. Within 30 days of delivery, we cover the standard local market rate for one resize at a jeweller near you on eligible styles (pavé bands, eternity bands and any band with diamonds set along its surface cannot be resized); a resized ring counts as a custom order, so it is no longer eligible for the 21-day change-of-mind return.
What to ask before you pay anyone
- Which laboratory certified this stone, and may I see the report before paying? An independent laboratory such as GIA, IGI or HRD. An in-house report is a marketing document, not an independent grade.
- Is the report number inscribed on the diamond? If it is, that ties this stone to that paper; if not, ask how the stone will be matched to its report.
- What is the making charge, as its own number? The metal price is national; the labour is where quotes diverge.
- Is the 5% VAT inside this figure, and is anything due on delivery? With VYKA, for a UAE delivery: yes, and no.
- What grades are on the report for this specific stone? Carat, colour and clarity as single values, plus a cut grade if it is a round brilliant; for pear, oval and other fancy shapes, ask for the polish, symmetry and measurements instead. A range on a product page is a specification for the design; the report for the stone you are buying should show single grades, except a GIA report on a lab-grown stone issued since 1 October 2025, which rates it Premium or Standard instead.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy a diamond ring in Umm Al Quwain?
Locally the choice is limited. Mall of UAQ's own directory lists a single jewellery brand, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, and there is a small local trade including Taiba Jewellers on King Faisal Road in Al Reqqah. Ajman, Sharjah and Deira offer far more choice within about an hour's drive, or a certified ring can be delivered.
Is there a gold souq in Umm Al Quwain?
No official source attests one. The emirate has an old souq that appears in travel listings, but none of them mentions gold.
How far is Umm Al Quwain from the Dubai Gold Souk?
About 62 kilometres and roughly an hour via the E311. Sharjah's Central Souq is about 35 kilometres and around 45 minutes; Ajman is about 23 kilometres and roughly 25 minutes.
Is gold more expensive in Umm Al Quwain?
No. Gold is quoted as a single nationwide UAE rate rather than per emirate, so the metal costs the same here as in Deira. Only the making charge varies between sellers.
How much is a diamond ring delivered to Umm Al Quwain?
From AED 2,800 for a complete ring set with small diamonds. A ring with a one-carat centre stone starts at AED 4,000 lab-grown or AED 9,490 natural, with 5% VAT included and insured delivery at no extra cost.
Do you deliver to Umm Al Quwain, and is there anything to pay on arrival?
Yes. Delivery is free, fully insured and signed for; once dispatched, transit is typically 1 to 3 business days anywhere in the UAE. Nothing is collected at the door, because the 5% VAT is already inside the agreed price.
Can I check the diamond before I commit?
Loose diamonds on our site are listed with their grading report details, and the laboratory certificate for a ring's centre stone comes with the ring. To confirm a specific stone before ordering, ask a jeweller on WhatsApp.
How long does a ring take to reach Umm Al Quwain?
Rings are made to order and arrive within 1 to 2 weeks of order confirmation; once dispatched, transit is typically 1 to 3 business days.
