Diamond Rings in Ajman

Diamond rings delivered in Ajman start at AED 2,800 for a ring set with small diamonds, and a ring with a one-carat centre stone from AED 4,000 lab-grown or AED 9,490 natural, with the 5% VAT already inside the number. Ajman has its own official Gold Souq, and Dubai's far bigger one is roughly half an hour away without traffic — so the question here is not where to shop, it is how to tell whether a quote is fair.

Ajman has a gold souq — in fact it has two

The Ajman Department of Tourism Development lists an official Gold Souq in the heart of the city, on Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Street in the Al Nakheel neighbourhood. Locals also distinguish an Old Gold Souq from a New Gold Souk, and that distinction is not folklore: the jeweller Al Romaizan lists a branch in each, Shop 4 in the old souq and Shop 45 in the new one.

Ajman has been ruled by the Al Nuaimi family since the early nineteenth century, and the current ruler, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi III, has ruled since 1981. The Gold Souq stands on Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Street, a name shared with the emirate's current ruler.

The tourism department also describes exactly how buying works there, and it is worth quoting because it is the government of Ajman explaining the mechanic rather than a jeweller: gold is sold by weight at international rates, and what you negotiate is the level of workmanship.

Read that sentence again, because it contains the whole problem in miniature. The part of the price anchored to something public — the weight, at the international rate — is the part you cannot argue about. The part you can argue about, the workmanship, is the part with no public reference at all. And for a diamond ring that asymmetry is far worse than for a gold chain, because on top of the negotiable workmanship sits a stone whose value swings threefold on grades you cannot assess across a counter.

"Ajman city centre" means two different places

This is easy to mix up when searching for a jeweller. There is the historic city centre — Al Nakheel, where the Gold Souq is — and there is City Centre Ajman, which is a Majid Al Futtaim shopping mall in the Al Jurf district on Al Ittihad Street, the E11. It opened on 1 December 1998 and, after its 2017 expansion, covers about 55,000 square metres. They are different destinations, several kilometres apart, and asking for directions to "Ajman city centre" can get you either one.

If it is the mall you want, Damas trades on the ground floor and Malabar Gold & Diamonds has a branch there too. If it is the souq you want, head for Al Nakheel instead.

China Mall Ajman, in the Al Jurf industrial area, is a wholesale and retail complex best known for general merchandise. Whatever you buy there or anywhere else, the same rule applies: a certified stone comes with a laboratory report you can check yourself.

The thing nobody mentions: where a complaint goes

Commerce in Ajman is regulated by the Department of Economic Development – Ajman, which issues trade licences and runs a consumer protection service. That service covers complaints against shops holding an Ajman commercial licence.

The practical consequence is one most buyers never think about until they need it. If you live in Ajman and buy from a shop in Deira, Ajman's department will not take the complaint, because it only handles shops with an Ajman licence; you would go to the seller's own emirate, or to the federal Ministry of Economy and Tourism, which receives consumer complaints across the UAE.

That is not a reason to avoid buying in Dubai — it is a reason to make the transaction verifiable in the first place. A laboratory report you can match to the stone, and a written price broken into stone, metal and making charge, is protection that does not depend on which office you end up talking to. Ask for both, everywhere, including here.

Start from the budget, not the carat

Most price tables ask what a given weight costs. Many buyers arrive with a budget instead, so this table answers the reverse question: what is the largest centre stone each budget reaches in our live catalogue, and how many ring designs with a centre stone come in at or under it.

Budget Largest lab-grown Largest natural Designs with a centre stone
AED 3,000 none none 0
AED 5,000 1.50 ct none 346
AED 8,000 2.50 ct none 524
AED 12,000 3.00 ct 1.00 ct 538
AED 20,000 3.00 ct 1.50 ct 540

Complete rings delivered free to any Ajman address, 5% VAT included, counted on 15 October 2026. Read the top row carefully: at AED 3,000 no complete ring with a centre stone is listed. The first lab-grown one starts at about AED 4,000 and the first natural one at about AED 9,490; rings set with small diamonds and no centre stone start at about AED 2,800. 3.00 ct is the largest centre stone we list as a complete ring.

Fourteen minutes to Sharjah, about half an hour to Deira

Ajman is the smallest emirate, about 260 square kilometres, with roughly sixteen kilometres of Arabian Gulf coastline — and its main landmass is a semi-enclave bordered on the north, east and south entirely by Sharjah. Ajman city runs straight into Sharjah and on into Dubai as one continuous built-up area. Sharjah is about 12.4 kilometres away, roughly fourteen minutes; the Dubai Gold Souk in Deira is about 28 kilometres, roughly half an hour without traffic.

Outside Dubai and Sharjah, few UAE residents have that. From Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah, Deira is more than an hour's drive. So the honest position is that comparison shopping is genuinely easy here — and that is a good thing, which we would rather acknowledge than talk you out of.

What proximity does not solve is the thing it never solves. More shops give you more quotes, and more quotes discipline a gold price, because the daily rate is public and only the workmanship varies. There is no published rate for diamonds. Two stones of identical carat weight can differ by a factor of three on colour, clarity and cut, and no amount of walking between counters resolves that without the certificate in your hand. Use the proximity — and bring the grades with you.

Ajman's own government leans on this openly. The Ajman Media Office describes the emirate as having "become a preferred shopping destination due to its central location, competitive prices, and diverse markets", pointing to modern malls alongside traditional souqs. That is positioning language rather than an independent finding, and we would rather label it as such than quote it as proof — but it does tell you what the emirate believes it competes on, and price competitiveness is a claim a buyer can actually test, one itemised quote at a time.

Ajman is also a place where retail genuinely matters: wholesale and retail trade (including vehicle repair) was the emirate's second-largest sector in 2023, about 18 per cent of a GDP above AED 36 billion, and the population reached roughly 583,105 in 2024. This is not a small market pretending otherwise.

Buying without a counter

We do not run a walk-in showroom anywhere; consultations happen on WhatsApp and video call. Tell us the stone or the design you have in mind and a jeweller will suggest options; to confirm a specific stone and its laboratory report (GIA, IGI or HRD) before ordering, ask on WhatsApp. The quote comes itemised — the stone, the metal, the making charge, and the 5% VAT already inside the total. Nothing is collected at the door.

Our rings are made to order and arrive within 1 to 2 weeks of order confirmation; a ring designed for you from scratch takes 3 to 4 weeks. Once dispatched, the ring travels by insured courier and is signed for on delivery, usually within 1 to 3 business days to any address in the emirate — including Masfout and Manama, Ajman's two inland exclaves, one about 110 kilometres south-east in the Hajar mountains and the other about 60 kilometres east on the Sharjah–Fujairah road.

Ring size is worth settling before you order. Our size guide covers measuring a ring she already owns. On eligible styles, we cover the standard local market rate for one resize at a jeweller near you within 30 days of delivery. Pavé bands, eternity bands and any band with diamonds set along its surface cannot be resized, and a resized ring counts as a custom order, so it is no longer covered by the 21-day change-of-mind return.

What to ask before you pay anyone

  1. What is the making charge, as its own number? Ajman's own tourism department says workmanship is the negotiable part. You cannot negotiate a number you have not been told.
  2. Which laboratory certified this stone, and may I see the report first? Look for an independent laboratory such as GIA, IGI or HRD. An in-house report is a marketing document.
  3. Is the report number inscribed on the diamond? If it is, that ties the stone to the paper; if not, ask how the stone will be matched to its report.
  4. Will you put the certificate number and an itemised price in writing? Written records are what any consumer protection office, local or federal, will ask to see.
  5. Is the 5% VAT inside this figure, and is anything due on delivery? With us: yes, and no. Get the same answer in writing from anyone else.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a gold souq in Ajman?
Yes. The Ajman Department of Tourism Development lists an official Gold Souq on Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Street in Al Nakheel, in the heart of the city. Locals distinguish an Old Gold Souq from a New Gold Souk, and the jeweller Al Romaizan operates a branch in each.

Where is "Ajman city centre" exactly?
It depends which one you mean. The historic centre is Al Nakheel, where the Gold Souq is. City Centre Ajman is a Majid Al Futtaim mall in Al Jurf on Al Ittihad Street (E11), opened in December 1998, where Damas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds trade.

How far is Ajman from the Dubai Gold Souk?
About 28 kilometres and roughly half an hour by road without traffic. Sharjah is closer still, about 12.4 kilometres and around fourteen minutes.

Can I buy certified diamonds at China Mall Ajman?
China Mall is a wholesale and retail complex in the Al Jurf industrial area known mainly for general merchandise. Whoever you buy from, insist on a laboratory report you can verify.

How much is a diamond ring delivered to Ajman?
From AED 2,800 for a complete ring set with small diamonds. A ring with a one-carat centre stone starts at AED 4,000 lab-grown or AED 9,490 natural, with 5% VAT included and insured delivery at no extra cost.

What can AED 4,000 actually buy?
Diamond bands and small-stone designs: 30 ring designs of all kinds start at or under AED 3,000, from AED 2,800. No complete ring with a centre stone is listed at that budget: a one-carat lab-grown centre stone starts at about AED 4,000, and a natural one at about AED 9,490.

If something goes wrong, who do I complain to?
The Department of Economic Development – Ajman handles consumer complaints against shops holding an Ajman trade licence. For a shop licensed elsewhere, the complaint goes to that emirate's department or to the federal Ministry of Economy and Tourism, which is a good reason to keep the certificate and the itemised price in writing.

Do you deliver to Masfout and Manama?
Yes. Both of Ajman's inland exclaves are covered by the same insured courier service, signed for on delivery. Transit is typically 1 to 3 business days after dispatch, and there is nothing to pay on arrival.
