GIA Certified Natural Diamonds in Dubai, the UAE & Saudi Arabia
Short answer: a GIA report is the most trusted description of a natural diamond, it can be verified online in under a minute, and it is the first thing we send with every natural stone we propose. Below: what the report does and does not tell you, how to read it when the stone is large, what GIA-graded stones cost in the UAE and Saudi Arabia today, and how sourcing works when there is no shop to walk into. What a GIA report proves, and what it does not
The Gemological Institute of America is the laboratory that wrote the 4Cs. Its report records what the stone is: weight to a hundredth of a carat, measurements to a hundredth of a millimetre, colour on the D-to-Z scale, clarity from Flawless to Included, cut grade for round brilliants, polish, symmetry, fluorescence, and a plotted diagram of the inclusions. Most reports are matched to a number laser-inscribed on the girdle of the stone.
A GIA report is not a valuation and not a guarantee of beauty. Two stones with identical grades can look different in the hand and be priced apart, because shape, proportions, where the inclusions sit and how the market is supplied all matter. The report removes the guesswork about the facts; your eyes, or ours on your behalf, decide the rest.
How to verify a GIA report in thirty seconds
Go to GIA Report Check (report.gia.edu), enter the report number and the carat weight, and compare the record with the stone in front of you: shape, weight to two decimals, measurements, colour, clarity and the inscription. If a seller cannot produce the number before you pay, or the inscription does not match, walk away. We send the number with every shortlist and show the inscription under the loupe or on video before any payment.
Reading the report when the stone is large
Above two carats every grade costs more, so it pays to know which ones you can see.
- Colour. D, E and F are colourless; G and H are near-colourless and, set in white gold or platinum, read as white to almost everyone. At three carats the price gap between D and G is large; the visible gap is small. Yellow and rose gold settings flatter G–H and even I stones.
- Clarity. VVS stones are clean under ten-times magnification; VS stones are clean to the eye. What matters at size is where an inclusion sits: a small crystal under a crown facet can be invisible, the same crystal under the table is not. Ask for the plotted diagram and a video, not just the grade.
- Cut, polish and symmetry. For a round brilliant insist on Excellent cut; for fancy shapes GIA gives no cut grade, so judge polish, symmetry and the length-to-width ratio (about 1.30 to 1.50 for an oval, 1.35 to 1.50 for an emerald cut).
- Fluorescence. None, Faint or Medium is fine and can make a G–H stone look whiter. Strong or Very Strong on a D–F stone can dull it in daylight and is priced lower for a reason.
- Measurements. Weight is what you pay for; millimetres are what you see. A well-cut 3-carat round is about 9.3 mm across; a deep one can weigh the same and look like a 2.5.
- Comments and inscription. Read the comments line; "clarity grade based on clouds not shown" on a large stone deserves a video.
GIA, IGI and HRD for natural diamonds
Every natural stone we list carries an independent report and the laboratory is shown on the listing. For natural diamonds, particularly above one carat, we recommend GIA: it is the report insurers, appraisers and resellers ask for, and its grading is consistently strict. IGI is the standard laboratory for lab-grown diamonds and also grades natural stones; HRD is a respected European laboratory. If you want GIA only, say so in the brief and that is what we source.
What GIA-graded diamonds cost in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
One carat first. On the live catalogue, a GIA-graded one-carat natural centre stone opens near AED 9,490 in the UAE, and a complete one-carat natural ring runs SAR 9,700 to 16,340 delivered in Saudi Arabia, VAT and customs included. The full one-carat ranges, itemised into stone, metal and making, are on the UAE price page and the Saudi price page.
Above two carats every stone is priced on its own report; current floors and medians by carat band, in dirhams and riyals, are on the 2 to 5 carat diamond ring price page.
How sourcing works when there is no shop to walk into
You send a brief (shape, carat range, colour, clarity); within 48 hours you receive a shortlist of two to five stones with their GIA report numbers, measurements, video where available, and a delivered price in your currency. You view the stone by appointment in Dubai or by live video, verify the report yourself, and pay only after approving the specific stone. The ring is then made in 18K gold in three to four weeks and delivered insured with the original report; Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam are served the same way with VAT and customs settled before dispatch. The full process for large stones, step by step, is on the 2 to 5 carat page.
Send a brief on WhatsApp, or start in the natural diamond search and shortlist the stones yourself.
Natural or lab-grown
Both are diamonds. A lab-grown stone costs a fraction of a natural one of the same grade and is the right choice for many buyers; we sell both and label both. A natural stone is rare, holds its identity as an heirloom, and is what most buyers want for a milestone piece they intend to keep for decades. If you are choosing between them, read our side-by-side comparison; if you have decided on natural, the GIA report is where the conversation starts.
Frequently asked questions
Are all of VYKA's natural diamonds GIA certified?
Every natural diamond we list carries an independent laboratory report with its number. GIA is our recommendation for natural stones, especially above one carat, and we source GIA-graded stones to any brief. Some listings carry IGI or HRD reports; the laboratory is shown on every listing, and you can ask for GIA only.
How do I check a GIA certificate is genuine?
Enter the report number at report.gia.edu (GIA Report Check). The record must match the stone you are offered on shape, carat weight to two decimals, measurements, colour and clarity. Most GIA-graded stones also have the report number laser-inscribed on the girdle, which we show you on the loupe or on video before you pay.
Is GIA better than IGI for a natural diamond?
For natural diamonds, GIA reports are the reference most buyers, insurers and resellers trust, and grading is consistently strict. IGI is the standard laboratory for lab-grown diamonds and also grades natural stones. If the stone is natural and above one carat, we recommend paying for GIA.
What does a 1 carat GIA-certified diamond ring cost in the UAE and Saudi Arabia?
On the live catalogue a GIA-graded one-carat natural centre stone opens near AED 9,490 in the UAE, and a complete one-carat natural ring runs SAR 9,700 to 16,340 delivered in Saudi Arabia, VAT and customs included. Colour, clarity and cut decide where a stone sits inside those ranges.
Can I see the diamond before I pay?
Yes. Every shortlist comes with the laboratory report and, for most stones, a 360-degree video. In the UAE you can view the stone in person by appointment; elsewhere we arrange a live video viewing under the loupe. Payment follows your approval of the specific stone.
Does the GIA report tell me the value of the diamond?
No. A GIA report describes the stone: its weight, measurements, colour, clarity, cut, fluorescence and inscription. It does not state a price or a valuation. Two stones with identical grades can differ in price because of shape, proportions, how the inclusions sit, and market supply.
Do you deliver GIA-certified diamonds to Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Stones and finished rings ship insured to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and across the Kingdom with the original GIA report, customs cleared and VAT settled before dispatch, so nothing is collected on arrival.
