A pear diamond, also called a teardrop, joins a rounded end to a single point. The collection includes pear solitaires in prong, cathedral and bezel settings; halo designs, among them east-west and crown halos; three-stone rings with round, pear, marquise or trilliant side stones; floral, petal and cluster designs; and two-stone rings that pair a pear with an emerald-cut or radiant diamond.
Every centre stone is graded colourless to near-colourless with VS1 to SI1 clarity and is independently certified, typically by GIA or IGI. A pear is worn with its point towards the fingertip or towards the hand. The point is the most delicate part of the stone, so it should sit inside a prong or a bezel. Check the length-to-width ratio and the measurements on the grading report, and you can check the report number on the laboratory's own website before you pay.
