The same 1 carat ring at Australian jewellers
On 14 October 2026 we read each jeweller's own website and noted the price of a 1.00 carat round lab-grown solitaire, with the gold and grade they state. Grades and certificates differ, so each line shows them as the seller describes them.
1.00 ct round, lab-grown
Australian dollars · shop prices include GSTOurs is the lowest price we found for an 18ct ring, about AUD 330 below Bevilles. Prouds' sale price is lower, for a 14ct ring with an H, SI stone.

The gold
18ct, not 9ct or 14ct
Gold karat says how much of the metal is gold. 18ct is 75% gold, 14ct is 58.5% and 9ct is 37.5%. The rest is alloy, which is why 9ct yellow gold looks paler and why 18ct keeps a richer colour.
Many Australian ranges are sold in 9ct or 14ct as standard, with 18ct as an upgrade. We only work in 18ct, so the prices above are already for the higher karat.
Lab-grown, plainly
What a lab-grown diamond is
A lab-grown diamond is diamond: the same carbon crystal as a mined stone, grown in a laboratory instead of underground. It is described as lab-grown (laboratory-created) on every invoice and certificate.
Each of our lab-grown diamonds comes with a report from IGI, the International Gemological Institute, stating its carat, colour, clarity and cut. Ask us for the report number and look it up on IGI's website to see the stone you are buying. The report is supplied with your ring.
If you would rather have a mined diamond, we also offer natural diamonds with GIA reports; see our Australian price guide for both.
Delivery
Delivered to your door in Australia
Every ring is made or prepared for you, then sent from Dubai by FedEx, insured and tracked, with a signature required on delivery. Allow 2 to 3 weeks from order confirmation for a catalogue ring and 3 to 4 weeks for a custom design. These are estimates, not fixed dates; we confirm yours when you order.
Rings above AUD 1,000 attract 10% GST, import duty where it applies and clearance charges before Australia releases them (Australian Border Force). We pay all of it before the parcel leaves Dubai, so the price you pay is the whole price and nothing is collected at your door.
Proposing at Christmas? December is the most popular month to get engaged in Australia. To be safe, confirm a catalogue ring by the end of November, or a custom design by mid-November.

Ring sizes
Australian ring sizes
Australian ring sizes use letters, as in the UK: an M or an N is common. Tell us your letter size and we confirm the exact size with you before your ring is made. If you are not sure, our size guide shows how to measure.
Returns and your rights
Returns from Australia
Eligible pieces can be returned within 21 days of delivery for a change of mind, unworn and with their certificate. Return postage to us is yours. Made-to-order, resized and engraved pieces are not covered by the change-of-mind return. If a piece arrives faulty, wrong or damaged, we repair, replace, exchange or refund it after inspection. Nothing in our policies limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which applies to overseas businesses that sell to people in Australia (ACCC). The full terms are in our refund policy.
