The 4Cs are the universal standard for assessing diamond quality. Carat measures weight (1 carat = 0.2 grams). Cut evaluates how well the diamond reflects light. Colour grades the absence of colour (D is the highest, Z the lowest). Clarity measures the presence of internal inclusions or external blemishes (FL is flawless, I3 has visible inclusions).
