See the stone before you pay
In Dubai you are trained to check things. Gold is stamped for purity, 750 on 18K and 916 on 22K, the day's rate is published, and a jeweller is expected to itemise the making charge as its own line on the receipt. You do not take anyone's word for the metal.
Diamonds are sold here with none of that discipline. The stone arrives as one number with a description attached, and the description is written by the person selling it. That gap is the whole reason this page exists.
So we hold the diamond to the same standard the metal is already held to. Before you pay anything, you get:
- the GIA or IGI report number, which you look up on the laboratory's own site — not a photograph of a certificate

The spread inside a single carat weight surprises people, and it is the most useful thing on this page. Carat is weight, not beauty. Two one-carat stones can differ threefold in price on cut, colour and clarity alone — and the cheaper of the two is sometimes the better-looking one, because cut outranks the rest and is the grade most often quietly omitted from a quote.
Where the money actually goes in a 1-carat ring
Cut is workmanship, not geology, and it decides how much light the stone returns. An excellent-cut stone one colour grade lower will outshine a poorly cut stone a grade higher and cost less. If something has to give, never let it be cut.
Colour runs D to Z, and the metal decides how much it matters. In yellow gold — still a common choice across the UAE — a G or H faces up as white as a D once set, at a meaningfully lower price. In platinum or white gold, the difference becomes visible and the grade earns its premium.
Clarity is where money is most often wasted. Above VS2 most inclusions are invisible without a loupe, so paying up to VVS1 buys a better certificate rather than a better ring.
Carat prices step at the round numbers. A 0.90 ct stone can cost noticeably less than a 1.00 ct of the same quality while measuring barely half a millimetre narrower across the top. Nobody looking at her hand will ever know; your budget will.
Dubai-direct versus a mall counter
The certificate is the same document wherever you buy. What differs is what has been stacked on top of it.
A boutique in Dubai Mall or a counter at the Gold Souk carries rent, fit-out and staff on every stone in the case. We hold no retail space. We also do not finance stock — our certified inventory stays with the cutting and trading houses until you choose a stone, so we are not funding a case of diamonds that may sit unsold for a year. What we do not have is a room you can walk into, and pretending otherwise would be silly in a city where the buyer can be at a counter in twenty minutes. Buyers who want the largest, best-cut stone their budget allows choose grown. Buyers for whom it matters that the stone came out of the ground choose mined. UAE prices on this page are quoted the way UAE prices are normally quoted — the figure you agree is the figure you are charged. Within the UAE most deliveries reach Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain quickly once the stone is confirmed; a ring built to order takes longer, because the stone is set only after you approve it. You get the date before you commit.
Insurance here is not a formality. A ring in transit is a small, extremely valuable object, and the reason the trade moves stones this way is that ordinary parcel networks are not built to carry them. If anything happened in transit, the piece is covered for its full value and remade or refunded — that is the whole point of paying for a secure lane instead of a cheap one.

Sizing a ring you cannot try on
Across the UAE, ring size is simply the inside circumference of the band in millimetres — a size 54 ring measures 54 mm around. If a jeweller here has ever sized you, that is the number you already have.
If not, measure a ring she wears on that finger, or wrap a strip of paper around the base of the finger and measure the overlap. Two rules beat precision: measure at the end of the day, when fingers are largest, and make sure it clears the knuckle. A ring that will not pass the knuckle cannot be worn; one that is slightly loose is easily sized down.
Which setting suits a 1-carat stone
At one carat the setting matters more than at any other weight, because a carat is large enough to carry a design and small enough to be swallowed by the wrong one.
A solitaire puts everything on the stone. It is the least forgiving option — nothing sits beside the diamond to distract from a mediocre cut — and the one that ages best. A halo rings the centre with small diamonds and makes a one-carat stone read closer to a carat and a half. It is the most efficient way to buy visible size, which is why it is our most requested style across the UAE, and it is worth knowing that a well-cut 0.90 ct in a halo will out-present a poorly cut 1.20 ct sitting alone.
A three-stone setting flanks the centre with two smaller diamonds and carries more metal and more meaning. A pavé band runs small stones along the shoulders, spreading light across the finger rather than concentrating it in one place — flattering on a slimmer hand, and the setting where making charge varies most, because every one of those small stones is placed by hand.
On metal, yellow gold remains a common choice here and it is forgiving of colour grade. White gold and platinum are less so: they show the stone's true colour honestly, which is worth knowing before paying for a D and setting it in yellow, where the difference disappears.
